Creating the New Leadership (Keynote)

In this talk, Chuck McVinney, widely known lecturer and author on creativity, leadership and the challenge of sustainability, discusses with humor and deadly serious focus, the challenges and responsibilities leaders in this century will face. He defines the actual skills leaders will need to embrace and excel at thriving in the chaotic and uncertain future. He calls for a major shift in focus in how we define the nature of work, and the measures of business success. He defines the issues and the related ways of thinking and leading that will make or break 21st century organizations and their societies.

McVinney brings these challenges right down to earth — using real life examples, charting the trends and future requirements for business and personal success, and spelling out opportunities this will create for those who are ready to think like 21st century leaders.

Using a variety of media and some audience participation, McVinney relieves us of our tired management clichés, like “Performance Management;” “Empowerment:” and traditional “Teamwork.” Instead, he challenges us to think organically, to draw our creativity from what he calls “Our natural order intelligence, and its sources,” and thereby insure our sustainability as individuals, organizations and as a species.

Note:  This material is also available as an intensive experience-based program for executives and senior leaders.
